To love, honor and respect
"I don't believe that there is any true friendship without a bond of honor, and the honor in friendship is the respect you give the other that she also gives you." --Dorothy Allison

It's my party...
That's Harry Dean Stanton on Friday night singing at his 80th birthday bash. Yes, I said 80th! I've seen 40 year olds who don't have the energy nor the stamina that this man has! He plays a mean harmonica and has a beautiful voice. I love hearing him sing.
The after dinner party didn't even begin until 11:30 and HD was going strong until the wee hours of the morning. Since we didn't get home until 6:00 am, I slept most of the day and lost my Saturday but, who cares. I had a blast. It was an honor and a privilege to share it with Harry Dean and friends, all such fun people (including Al Pacino)! ;)
Monday begins a new week of work, work, work. Which will be a welcomed and much needed counterbalance to last weeks shenanigans. HD's wasn't the only birthday we celebrated this week. We celebrated my dear friend Bonnie's birthday on Tuesday night at Dan Tana's which drew a few friends that we hadn't seen in a year or two. It was great having the old gang all together again! Much fun was had!

The Happiest Girl on Earth
This is the face of our sweet little girl going through the gates of Disneyland for the first time! At least the first time she will remember. We brought her when she was a baby but THIS was HER wonderful, magical, glee-filled first time!!!
And what a fantastic first time it was!!! More pictures to come later, after we get them developed. Forgot the digital, so we bought a couple of disposables and snapped a couple with the cellphones. She was in heaven ALL DAY LONG! So was I really. I just love watching her get so excited! That's the best fun of all!
We got a HUGE hotel room and made a weekend of it. We swam, we shopped, we ate breakfast with The Fairy Godmother, Captain Hook, Chip and Dale, Winnie The Pooh and Tigger too!!! Hoohoohoohoo! (ahem, sorry) And we found out that our rough and tumble dare-devil little 5 year old isn't so fearless when it comes to some of the rides offered at the Happiest Place on Earth! The Snow White ride scared the H-E-double hockey sticks out of her! So when we took her on the Alice in Wonderland ride she was prepared and stuck her head in my armpit the entire ride and wouldn't look up! Poor girl.
So where does one go when trying to convince your dear daughter that not ALL the rides at Disneyland are scary? Yep... It's a Small World. Then next stop Toon Town and a visit with Minnie Mouse and everything was all better. What a time we had! So much fun we are planning the next trip already!
And in the end when the day was over...
The Princess slept.

It's The Little Things, Really...
How do you survive those little moments of distress over finding dirty socks on the dining room table, your daughter's coloring book in the refrigerator and a phone call from your oldest daughter telling you she just ran out of gas a half a mile from your house and can you come help???
You remember the good times from the day before when you shared a wonderful Sunday brunch with your family, an early afternoon of being spoiled shopping with your hubby and a late day swim with your kids. Followed by a good old fashioned BBQ to finish it all off!!! *sigh* Yes, I can survive anything after a great day like that!
Also, have some GREAT news today! My cast just became more complete after receiving acceptance of offers to Erin Gray, Michael Swan, Patricia Place, and Ed Brigadier in the film I've been casting! Woohoo! I am a happy girl!

And happy, and scared and anxious, and giddy, and full of everything that comes along with starting a new phase in your life! I'll make an announcement soon. Just need to work out all of the details first. Dinner meeting tonight. Odds and ends taken care of this week.
Then it's...
Wish me luck!

10,000 needed. You can help!
Some time ago, an industry insider was busted for selling headshots of child actors without their or their parent's consent on e-bay for her own personal gain. Well, apparently the practice hasn't stopped for many other sick and opportunistic idiots out there, and there are several more of them making a buck or two selling to the many pedophiles and rapists that will pay for them (can you tell that I think this is disgusting and want to throw up?).
So a very well intentioned woman named Paula Dorn has started a petition to get e-bay to stop allowing this to continue. Won't you join me and the countless (hopefully millions) other concerned citizens and sign her petition?
Please go to The Petition's Website and sign!

Miss Beehive 1963
On nights like this
When the world's a bit amiss
And the lights go down
Across the trailer park
I get down, I feel had
Feel on the verge of going mad
And then it's time to punch the clock
I put on some make-up
Turn on the tape deck
And put the wig back on my head
Suddenly I'm Miss Midwest Midnight Checkout Queen
Until I head home
And I put myself to bed
I look back on where I'm from
Look at the woman I've become
And the strangest things seem suddenly routine
I look up from my Vermouth on the rocks
The gift wrapped wig's still in the box
Of towering velveteen
I put on some make-up
Some LaVern Baker
And pull the wig down from the shelf
Suddenly I'm Miss Beehive 1963
Until I wake up
And I turn back to myself

I mean the five ladies of The View have only 3 hairstylists. Dr. Phil has 2?
That's a real headscratcher!!! (Pun intended)

Well, THAT was Interesting.
I'm sitting here at my computer, minding my own business, watching a re-run of the news and I look up and see flashing lights in my dining room window. So I go to my front door look outside and see 4 police cars, an ambulance, an EMT truck and a fire engine outside my house! They took someone away on a stretcher and the cops were talking to my neighbors and a crowd of 20-somethings across the way!
LOVELY!
Hmmmm, I feel I should know about what went down just now. I have kids to worry about. Guess I could check the LAPD site?
*sigh*
These are the moments we treasure, no?

Two Years And It's Still So Hard to Accept
My Mother, My Angel. I miss you now more than ever.
Do you know how much I love you? Did you know how much I loved you? Do you know how much I want to hold you? Want to kiss you? Want to talk with you? My God, how I miss you.
Perhaps love is like a resting place
A shelter from the storm
It exists to give you comfort
It is there to keep you warm
And in those times of trouble
When you are most alone
The memory of love will bring you home
Perhaps love is like a window
Perhaps an open door
It invites you to come closer
It wants to show you more
And even if you lose yourself
And don`t know what to do
The memory of love will see you through
Oh, love to some is like a cloud
To some as strong as steel
For some a way of living
For some a way to feel
And some say love is holding on
And some say letting go
And some say love is everything
And some say they don`t know
Perhaps love is like the ocean
Full of conflict, full of change
Like a fire when it`s cold outside
Or thunder when it rains
If I should live forever
And all my dreams come true
My memories of love will be of you
~John Denver

From an entry in my other diary 2 years ago...
The saddest day in the history of my life...
2004-03-19 18:00:28
My Mother died last week and I am grief stricken beyond all belief. My Mother was my best friend. She was the warmest thing in my pathetic little life. And my heart shivers at the notion that I will never feel the softness of her gentle hand stroking my hair. Or her tender whispers in my ear full of ’I love you’s.’ I spent every single day with her. This is the lowest point of my entire life and I don’t know how I’m going to go on.
I miss her more then I could ever imagine.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My love for you lives on, Mommy. Until that day that we will be together again, I am forever...
Your loving daughter.
Silly Dad!
My Daddy sent this to me today. Teehee! Cute! He's so silly!
Thanks, Dad! I needed that! I've been feeling so yucky today. I've got a really really bad bout with the flu, AGAIN!!! Bleh! I feel awful. As several of my friends have attested this flu season, NyQuil is my friend! All hail the Q!
And, love you, Dad! ;)
YAY!!!
I'm going to get my hair done tomorrow! It's been For-e-ver!!! I'm so excited! I'm going to use part of the giant gift certificate that my darling husband Michael gave me as a gift for my birthday last month. I get 4 different treatments to use whenever I wish. Hair, Nails, Massage, Facial. Ahhhhhh, yes. Bliss. I need this so badly tomorrow. Not just because it's been so long since I had a trip to the salon and my hair looks like crap, but also because I've been working so damn hard and I could use a little relaxation and pampering! Heeeeee! :)
Hey!!! Do you think if I slip them a little extra cash they could make me to look like this? ---->
Hmmmm, I didn't think so either.
Business Principles 101: Marketing:
1. You're a woman and you see a handsome guy at a party. You go up to him and say, I'm fantastic in bed! That's DIRECT MARKETING.
2. You're at a party with a bunch of friends and see a handsome guy. One of your friends goes up to him and pointing at you says, She's fantastic in bed! That's ADVERTISING.
3. You see a handsome guy at a party. You go up to him and get his telephone number. The next day you call and say, Hi, I'm fantastic in bed! That's TELEMARKETING.
4. You see a handsome guy at a party, you straighten your dress, walk up to him and pour him a drink. You say, May I? and reach up to straighten his tie brushing your breast lightly against his arm, and then say, By the way, I'm fantastic in bed! That's PUBLIC RELATIONS.
5. You're at a party and see a handsome guy. He walks up to you and says, I hear you're fantastic in bed! That's BRAND RECOGNITION.
6. You're at a party and see a handsome guy. You talk him into going home with your friend. That's A SALES REP.
7. Your friend can't satisfy him so he calls you. That's TECH SUPPORT.
8. You're on your way to a party when you realize that there could be handsome guys in all these houses you're passing. So you stop, climb onto the roof of your car and shout at the top of your lungs, I'm fantastic in bed! That's SPAM MAIL.
Oh. My. Gawd!
SOOOOOOO unbelievably busy! I've been working on two seperate films this past week and I can not tell you how busy I have been! It's a good busy! Really. Honest. But, I need a break! Eeeegads!
I have learned so much more about the peculiarness and the greatness of actors this week. Some things just boggle my mind! And, some things make me so proud!
Makes me appreciate my actor friends who "get it" so much more! I'll blog about it more in a couple of days. Must get some sleep for a loooong day of pre-reads and callbacks tomorrow.
In the meantime, if you are an actor (or you want to be one) read this: The Actors Voice
