RIP Lawrence Parke

A dear man and friend to every member of the entertainment industry, has passed away today. Lawrence (Larry) Parke, founder of Acting World books, former Casting Director, Actor, Teacher, Agent and Mentor will be sorely missed by those whose lives he so generously touched. In a town where good and honest helpful people are so hard to find, Larry was a true diamond in the rough. He gave so much of himself to so many and asked of so little. Larry's career spanned many decades. From acting in film, television and Broadway to publishing many books and career building actors' guide's. Mr. Parke has received Mayoral Commendations from Mayors Sam Yorty (1973) and Tom Bradley (1975) for his work with the Los Angeles Arts Community and twice received the Vernon Rice Award from the New York Post, one in 1947 and the other in 1949. Mr. Parke has founded and served many organizations here in the U.S. and abroad. He is loved and respected by all who have known him.

As my friend Bob Brody said, it is "Hard to think the acting community can have a better friend."

I am proud to able to say that I knew him and considered him my friend. He touched my life as he has so many others. Always there to help you (he had just agreed to sit on our board of directors) always there with a story to tell (and he had many!) Lawrence Parke was truly a gem. May he rest in peace. My sincerest condolences to his family.

Scary site of the day

Or should I say scary woman of the day? This site made me laugh and pissed me off at the same time. How DO these people get away with this kind of thing anyway? Plastic surgery, 15 pounds of make-up, 12 Million dollar homes and children are suffering all over the world??? How about we gut out the whole building and convert into a shelter or home for orphaned children. Sheesh.

What a long weekend!

Thoroughly enjoyable!!! Started out on Thursday with new headshots. Beautiful afternoon! Had a great time with Ashley! It's always so fun getting headshots done alongside my lovely daughter. She is so incredibly beautiful and fun to watch because she is so natural in front of the camera. It doesn't hurt that David LaPorte (our photographer) is an absolute doll and we flirt with him like crazy! He just puts you at ease and the time goes by so fast! We took 9 rolls between the 2 of us! Sheesh!

After the photo shoot it was off to Dan Tana's for dinner and drinks with our very dear friends Bob Brody, Bonnie Gillespie and Keith Johnson. The food was tres magnifique and the drinks were forever flowing!!! We spotted Kim Delany at the next table and chatted it up with Harry Dean Stanton in the wee hours of the evening. A VERY fun time was had by all! I adore my friends. We always have such a fantastic time together.

Helped Bonnie and Keith move to a beautiful breezy new home in Santa Monica on Saturday. Pizza, beer, good friends and lotsa sweat! So, so fun! Missed my kitty. Bon had decided to board them for the day while we moved everything, which was smart since the door was constantly swinging open it wouldn't have been a good idea to keep them there. So, I'll have to wait! I miss her. :(

Monday's first sketch comedy group meeting went really well. We have a huge group of talented people involved and it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. So watch out! We're coming to a theatre near you! Soon!

Out the door in a few minutes to go see a friend in a show at the Improv. A REAL date with my husband!!!! Oooooooh! Alert the media! It's been so long since we went on an actual date I'm not sure I remember how!!! Kidding. I'm so excited. I love dates! Teehee.
